The battalion returned to Fort Riley in December 2001 on completion of their Intrinsic Action in Kuwait.
Uday had matured even further and was full of confidence when he came home to Chandigarh from around 20 Jan 2002 to 15 Feb 2002.
On return to the US, Uday was full of many ideas and things that he wanted to do- so one of the first things he did was convince his superiors that he needed to get a college education and that he would manage to do that while performing his everyday duties in the company.
So Uday was enrolled in Barton Community College in their Fort Riley Campus.
Many were surprised that Uday was fast tracking and had taken nine subjects together and was managing to do well ending up with a GPA of 3.4.
Uday had settled well into army life and was very popular with everyone- being very respectful, and considerate and exceedingly helpful.
Everybody liked him very much including classmates at college, wives of fellow soldiers and their children as well as fellow soldiers including some not necessarily from Charlie Company.
