A book on poems " The Poetic Zeal" by Caleiph Ken'yon Brewer was published in the US in 2007, and a poem titled "Paying Homage" was dedicated to soldiers of C Company 1-34AR who made the ultimate sacrifice. An autographed copy of the book was given to the father of SGT Uday Singh. The poet Caleiph Ken'yon Brewer had served in C Company with Uday in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

This year no grant was disbursed to the FRG C Company 1-34AR, as the establishment of the Battalion had changed and from an active unit was re-designated as a training cell.

The scholarships and grant of $500 was given to the School and the same was awarded at the Memorial Service, which this year was held on Dec 15, 2008.

It was not reported in the earlier newsletters but a plaque both in English and Punjabi was installed at Sri Tharra Sahib next to the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. The Golden Temple is the seat of the Sikh Religion, and these plaques were placed in  Uday's  memory.
